Concerto Networks acquires rival Tech People

Small medium business (SMB) computer networks specialist Concerto Networks buys rival firm Tech People to expand its coverage of IT professionals across New Zealand

Computer repair firm Tech People has been acquired by Concerto Networks in a deal that will make the business one of the largest firms of its kind in the country. Franchise company Concerto Networks offers business owners stress-free computer/server back-up and support services via a nationwide network of IT professionals. Concerto Networks completed the purchase of the Tech People, which was also known as PC People, on 11 May following several months of negotiations. The purchase of Tech People will add 10 new franchise partners to Concerto Networks' existing team of 17.

Justin Worsley, Concerto Networks' managing director, says the company's nation-wide web of franchisee now totals 27. "We are now the largest franchise network of IT professionals in the country focused on the SMB market," he says. "We are well on the way to our goal of having 60 franchisee partners in the country." Concerto Networks is now operating in Nelson, Kapiti Coast and Palmerston North as a result of the take-over. In addition, its existing coverage of Auckland, Wellington Christchurch and Tauranga has also expanded. In all, the company is helping SMB clients in Auckland, Thames, Tauranga, Te Kuiti, Napier, Palmerston North, Kapiti Coast, Wellington, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill. "The Tech People franchisees bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our existing network," says Worsley. "Tech People franchisees will now have access to the latest managed services offerings developed by Concerto Networks NZ." Concerto Networks has also launched into Australia with the sale of a Master Franchise and local franchise in South Australia. We have a goal of 300 franchisee's in Australia by the end of 2012.
